Oklahoma's Parental Choice Tax Credit helps families choose the school that fits, and Victory Family School families can use it here. Here is how it works, in plain English.
How much you can receive

The credit is refundable, meaning you receive it even if it exceeds what you owe in state taxes. The state uses your AGI from two years before the school year (for 2027–28, that's your 2025 return), and households at or under $150,000 AGI receive priority. Verify current amounts with the Oklahoma Tax Commission before each application cycle. Last updated July 2026.
How to apply
Enroll or apply at VFS
You need an accepted enrollment before the credit application. Start your VFS application first.
Get your EVN from us
VFS provides your student's Enrollment Verification Number, the key document for the state application. We handle this part.
Apply through OkTAP
Applications open each spring on the Oklahoma Tax Commission's OkTAP portal; the next window opens in spring 2027 for the 2027–28 school year. Apply the day it opens: households at or under $150,000 AGI get priority during the first 60 days, then it's first-come, first-served until the statewide cap is reached.
Receive your credit
Approved credits are paid out in installments each semester. Our admissions office will walk you through exactly how the payments apply to your tuition account.

Is this a voucher?
No. It is a refundable state income tax credit paid to you. You do not have to owe taxes to receive it.
Can I use it for more than one child?
Yes. The credit applies per student, so a family with three students at VFS can receive the credit for each of them.
When should I apply?
The day the window opens, typically mid-March through mid-June for the following school year. Credits are capped statewide and demand has neared the cap in recent cycles, so early applications matter. Priority goes to households at or under $150,000 AGI, based on your return from two years prior.
Can I still get the credit for this school year?
The 2026–27 application window closed June 15. If you missed it, you can still enroll at VFS now and apply next spring for the 2027–28 school year; our office will make sure you have your EVN ready the day applications open.
Does VFS charge anything for helping?
No. Helping families through the process is part of what we do.
