Kathryn graduated from Howard Payne University in 2008 with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. She also received certification to teach English as a Second Language (ESL). She taught 1st and 2nd grade in public school for 4 years, then spent a year teaching reading intervention for K-5 ESL students. After that, Kathryn took several years off to stay home with her own children, but now that they’re both in school, she decided to return to education and join us at VFS. Our students get to visit her each week when they come to our school library! Kathryn loves working with children and she enjoys sharing her love of children’s books with them. She reads with them, helps them explore our library, introduces fun, new stories and revisits classics and old favorites. Our students always look forward to checking out new books and Kathryn loves seeing them so excited about reading!
